Vintage Ice Hockey Nashville Dixie Flyers Crewneck Sweatshirt 3XL / Purple

The Music City's first hockey team, the Nashville Dixie Flyers, started play in the EHL in 1962 at the Municipal Auditorium. They were immediately successful, making the playoffs all but one of their nine seasons, winning the EHL title twice in 1966 and 1967. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to keep the team afloat as they had financial difficulties and folded in 1971. But their legacy lasts to this day, in the yellow that the city's NHL team currently wears.

NOTE: This is a pre-order item. This jersey is full of 90s flair as it sports one of the greatest logos in minor league hockey history. The Kentucky Thoroughblades first took the ice at Rupp Arena in Lexington for the 1996-97 season. The team's signature colors of teal, purple, and silver were unique in their own right but the angry, muscular horse on skates really made their uniforms one of the most unique in all of pro sports.
